2011 vs 2013

In 2011, I was part of the team that led a group of 75+ kiddos through their first VBS. It was FANTASTIC! The kids were so excited to be there that they went home at lunchtime, changed their clothes & came back to do VBS again. We soon caught on and decided to spread our afternoons out in the community helping & visiting other organizations. It was such a great and rewarding experience, especially when 25+ kids were at the gate waiting for us each morning.

After seeing the living and personal hygiene conditions in and around Comayagua, our goals for 2013 are quite different from 2011. Instead of doing VBS in one location for the week, we will be traveling throughout the area to various places we visited breifly last year; the AIDS orphanage, Home for Boys, etc. It is my hope to bring the items desperately needed to these places as well as those we meet on the street. The many personal hygiene routines & items we do everyday are luxuries in Honduras. Clean water being one of the most needed items.
